Between is the student run literary journal of Pacifica Graduate Institute. When I served as an editor from the summer of 2011 through the spring of 2012, the journal’s 14th year, we named our annual issue “Pharmakon,” meaning poison and elixir. In my role I was able to triple the submissions and arrange for a cover by Robert Guyker that is both symbolically focused and elegantly crafted.
