Myth Salon: The Evolving Myth of Luke Skywalker with Steven Galipeau, M.A., M.Div.

Date: Thursday, October 15, 2020, 5:00 p.m. PDT

The arrival of the new Star Wars trilogy, “Episodes VIII-IX: The Force Awakens,” “The Last Jedi,” and “The Rise of Skywalker” stirred enormous anticipation. “Star Wars” has been with us since 1977 and interest has not waned. Jung has written that the best we can do is dream the myth forward. This presentation will take us back to the original trilogy to explore what extent this mythic adventure is still alive in its newest incarnation.

Steven Galipeau, M.A., M.Div. is a Jungian Analyst in private practice in Woodland Hills, California and President and Executive Director of Coldwater Counseling Center in Studio City, a Jungian oriented sliding scale nonprofit. Steve is the author of The Journey of Luke Skywalker: An Analysis of Modern Myth and Symbol as well as articles and reviews on a variety of topics related to Analytical Psychology. He lectures frequently at the C. G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles, in June he presented material on the Gilgamesh Epic.
