Myth Salon: The Enneagram, with Gard Jameson

Updated: Feb 27

EVENT DESCRIPTION: Have you wondered what the Enneagram actually is? Do you know why, as a way to understand personality, it holds such potential to unlock self-awareness? It is often said, when you heal the self, you heal the world. In this Myth Salon, we will have a conversation among Enneagram educators and our panel to explore the power of the Enneagram to awaken personality awareness and evoke a more compassionate world. By helping us discover diverse patterns of universal energy that inform our personalities, the Enneagram reveals the masks we present to the world, while also revealing something deeply spiritual and unifying behind the mask. How does this ancient tradition provide an appreciation of the Unity that Underlies our Diversity?

FEATURED GUEST: Gard Jameson received his doctorate from Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2005. He teaches Asian Philosophy at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He serves with The Charter for Compassion, Compassionate Las Vegas, The Stillpoint Center, The Children’s Advocacy Alliance, Volunteers in Medicine, and The Interfaith Council of Southern Nevada. Dr. Jameson is the author of five books: Footprints on the Sands of Time, Phaethon, Monkey, and Ramayana: Our Mythic Moment, the last three books reflecting on grand epics from the West, China and India, and most recently, The Peace Pilgrim Pictures, a contemplative journey with Nicholas and Helena Roerich. His teachers have included Thomas Keating, HH Dalai Lama, Huston Smith, Jean Huston, Joseph Campbell, Elie Wiesel, Wayne Teasdale, Sister Jayanti, Richard Rohr, Thomas Berry, Richard Tarnas, Dennis Slattery, and Patrick Mahaffey. His greatest teacher has been Jesus, the Spirit of Truth. Next to Jesus, his greatest teacher has been Florence Jameson, his wife with whom he has traveled the contemplative and service journey, exploring the inner and outer realms of awareness, learning that unconditional love, unfailing forgiveness and matchless goodwill are the only worthwhile attributes of a life well-lived. He is deeply blessed by his loving partnership with Florence! And, his daughters, MJ and Julia!
