The JCWR at Studio School Los Angeles, in partnership with Fox Searchlight Pictures and WIT PR, is hosting a group of selected mythologists at the Los Angeles premiere screening of Tolkien on Wednesday night, May 8, at 7:00 p.m. at the Regency Westwood Village.
Tolkien explores the formative years of renowned author J. R. R. Tolkien’s (Nicholas Hoult) life as he finds friendship, courage, and mythic inspiration among a fellow group of writers and artists at school. Their brotherhood strengthens as they grow up and weather love and loss together, including Tolkien’s tumultuous courtship of his beloved Edith Bratt (Lilly Collins), until the outbreak of the First World War, which threatens to tear their fellowship apart. All of these experiences would later inspire Tolkien to write his famous Middle-earth novels.
