I'm curious about the underlying source of synchronicities. It seems to me that the scientific/rational process of subdividing the universe into bits then observing correlations or causal relationships between those bits is primarily a mental/perceptual process. We create mental models in the form of mathematical relationships involving mass, energy, velocity, momentum etc that best match our observations. These models - and the resulting perceptions that result - are the result of how we chose to subdivide the universe. Eastern cultures pay more attention, for instance, to phenomena the mind - phenomenology - and do not see the universe as a machine but as more of a living organism where consciousness is primary.
In quantum physics we realize that the universe is intrinsically whole and cannot be subdivided except through our observational choices and resulting mental abstractions. Many physicists believe that information cannot be created or destroyed - so all the information that is, was and ever shall be is here right now. Perhaps the mind “tunes” to the informational bands that it wants to see, driven by curiosity and discovery. Science can only answer questions that we dare to ask. Curiosity expands those questions.
Could it be that everything is already connected , and it is the mind that selectively "tunes" to those connections of choice? In this case, as the mind expands its perceptual filters, whether through spiritual practices or entheogens, we begin to experience and notice more and more synchronicities until we achieve unity consciousness where we perceive the true interconnectedness of all things...
