MYTH SALON: The Green Knight

Join us August 5th for a Myth Salon on A24’s, The Green Knight. Leading up to the event, we’ll publish our interview with director David Lowry before bringing it into the Salon.

We’ll also be joined by our friend John Bucher – mythologist, screenwriter and Content Director for the Joseph Campbell Foundation – as well as Lansing Smith, Chair of Pacifica’s Ph.D. mythology program and professor of Arthurian Romance. Dr. Smith also traveled with Joseph Campbell through France and has recently revived his famous Grail Quest.

Hard to overstate my excitement after seeing the film this week. We’ve basically stopped what we’re doing to set up something special, and the film deserves it. Artful films based on myths with profound arcs don’t come around very often. See it when it premiers on the 30th. We’ll publish the interview and some research portals leading up to the 5th – starting with these deep dives on Gawain and the Green Knight.

Leading up to the Myth Salon on The Green Knight, we want to encourage you to learn about the myth and its figures -- starting with Gawain and the Green Knight. Coming up, you'll find deep dives on Guinevere, Arthur, Merlin, Lancelot and the Grail, Excalibur, Camelot and the Wasteland.
